Has anybody ever removed the acer empowerment stuff off an acer pc before??
My dad's pc is getting really slow and i wanna take the unwanted acer rubbo off to help speed things up.
I know vista is supposed to be slow (mine for some reason is fairly fast) but this is gone beyond a joke.
Any tips would be a great help.

My bro's got an Acer lappy, some of the stuff on there is for the hot keys and the fancy media stuff on the left so if you remove it then it wont work. Not so sure of the pc's though.

Post up a list of the apps and we can take a look.

Hi Folks....i know this thread is 6 months old but i only just got the info i needed the other day . This is partly cos i was sick lately and partly due to laziness on my behalf. Plus i don't visit my parents all that much lately.
Anyhoo...the acer app's i wanna remove from me dads laptop are...Acer arcade,Acer e data security management, Acer e lock, Acer empowering technology, Acer e-net management, Acer e-presentation management, Acer e- settings, Acer Grid Vista, Acer mobility center Plug in, Acer screen saver And lastly Acer tour.
All the above are never used, ever.
My question is, can i dump all these app's without damaging the pc. Will it be just like uninstalling a program i don't want anymore.
The reason i'm asking for help is because this laptop like mine didn't come with a copy of vista. It came preinstalled. So if i screw up i have no install disc to recover with.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What is the laptop? By the looks of it most can go, the arcade for sure.... Thinch the Empowering Tech one is maybe a keeper, depending on what it does. IIRC that didn't agree when i pulled it off the bros Acer... lol

If it breaks it just DL it off the Support site and reinstall it.
