Ok here is my configuration,

I have one 2003 Server running on my network and 3 workstations. This
is a home network using for keeping my networking skills up to date
because I am no longer active in the networking field.

Suddenly on the one XP system that I use daily I could no longer log in
using an account that exisits in the domain. I could only log in as the
local administrator.

If I logged in as the admistrator account for the local machine I was
able to ping the domain server so I knew I did not have a connectivity
problem.

I tried resetting the account for Emanuel Levy but it did not work. I
ended up removing the workstation fronm the domain and rejoining it.

I was then able to log in using the Emanuel Levy account created on the
network but I lost all my settings. If I go to c:\documents and
settings\

I see Emanuel Levy and Emanuel Levy.LEVY

My old files are in Emanuel Levy but the system is trying to use
Emanuel Levy.LEVY

If I go to System-->Advanced-->User Profiles I see an entry for Account
Unknown which from the size of it is the Emanuel Levy that I can't use.
What can I do to get back into this?

I've tried the followng

1) Logged in a the Admistrator account for the network I took Ownership
of the c:\Documents and settings\Emanuel Levy folder
2) Under Security added Emanuel (E-Mail Removed) to have full control
3) Logged off as Admistrator and back on as Emanuel Levy but it'sstill
not using that profile.

It's doubtful it will ever use that profile again. Copy your data and move
on.

You could try pointing (in the ProfileList registry key) your username to
the profile in question.

Reboot.
Log on as some administrative user other than the "domain" user.
You can change where the profile points, making sure that either the user in
question is an administrator or a member of some group that has full access
to the folder/files in question. Look for the appropriate paths in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

By selecting each SID listed there and looking at the "ProfileImagePath" on
the right side for the one pointing to "Emanuel Levy.LEVY" and tell it to
point
to the "Emanuel Levy " directory you want it to use. AGAIN - that domain
user has
to have FULL RIGHTS to every folder/file in that new directory or this will
fail and you may end up with a "Emanuel Levy.0000" directory or something
similar.
