Hi,
is it possible to create an account to let the user to print only
without any other rights such as login to server/workstation, browse
shared folders on server/workstations and so on?
My request because we need to give access to our printers to an
external team that hasn't any account to our server (spooler) and right
now prints directly to the printers. But we need to know how much they
print (accounting) and without a queue the printers sometime fails
because of collisions.

thank you for any reply

I'm not sure how you are doing the tracking, but I believe you could
have them print lpr or ipp to your server. I'm not able to look right
now so I'm just shooting from the hip on this one, but I think that if
you install print services for unix from add/remove programs, windows
components, and have the printer shared out they can print to it via lpr
and not have to authenticate in any way. The queue name will be what
ever the printers share name is.
