Account database is not accessible

This morning when I turned on my laptop running windows xp pro, the logon screen does not show my login as usual. I then press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and enter administrator account with correct password but could not able to login.
I ran ERD commander to reset administrator password with LockSmith, the program say "error openning account database"

Is this possible that windows xp account database corrupted? is there any way or any tool to check ?
I'd like to know more before reinstalling the OS.
