account access across a wired network

I have 2 computers connected on a wired network on Wn2kPro. One of the
computers is rather old, so I don't use any user accounts, just the
administrador default! The other, NEWER computer has different user accounts
on it. I currently have no problems accessing the NEWER computer from the
old computer!

The problem is that from the old computer, after I have accessed an account
on the NEWER computer, I am unable to change the account from the old
computer without logging out and in again! The reason I ask this is that I
don't want different users to be able to access other user's files' on the
NEWER computer.

For example, user 1 is using the old cumputer, and is accessing their files
on the NEWER computer, using user 1's name and password on the NEWER
computer. Thus, user 1 can see their shared files on the NEWER computer.

Then user 2 comes along to use the old computer. At the moment, user 2 can
see user 1's files, as user 1 is still logged in to the NEWER computer. At
the moment, user 2 has to log off the old computer (out and back into
Administrator) and back in again, to be able to sign in to the NEWER computer
with user 2's name and password.

How can I set the old computer up so that you don't have to log off and in
again on the old computer to be able to change access to the NEWER computer.

I have tried explaining this to people I know, and they don't always
understand, so I hope it is clear enough for a reply!

Many thanks in advance,

James Robinson

Please do not multi-post - it wastes everybody's time. Use
cross-posting if you wish to reach a larger audience.

Funnily enough, I am trying to reach a larger audience! And don't patronise
me!

I am politely pointing out that you're going about it
the wrong when while trying to reach a larger audience.
With multi-posting you create a number of separate
posts in several newsgroups. None of the respondents
in one group can see any of the replies in the other
newsgroups, hence there is duplication of effort. You
are wasting everybody's time.

With cross-posting, you post your item in several
newsgroups by placing several addresses into the
address field, separated by semicolons. Every respondent
can see every other reply, regardless of the newsgroup.

I note that you never bothered to acknowledge my
detailed reply in a different newsgroup but you certainly
sang out when you thought you were being patronised.
If you want help from strangers volunteering their time
then you might have to become a little less sensitive
and a little more appreciative. You should also familiarise
yourself with newsgroup etiquette.
