My computer came with a F G H I in "MY Computer" These were for
Media readers. I have accidently deleted them using the "safely remove
hardware" icon in my system tray. How do I get these back? I haven't done
anything else except get to this newsgroup as fast as I could for some help!
I don't want to mess anything else up.
Thanks,
Marsha

Unplug the readers, then plug them back in again. Alternatively
you could reboot your machine.

Unplug them from the computer using the
USB cable that hooks them up.

Wait 30 sec and plug the cable back in.

Go into Device Manager (Start...Run...type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the
quotes) and press Enter). Enable hidden devices from the menu - then
delete/uninstall all of the memory card reader stuff. Then reboot - it
should redetect and reinstall your memory card readers.

Thanks to everyone who answered my plea! I did the easiest first which was
to reboot my computer & now everything is back to normal. I can breathe
again. I couldn't unplug/plug the devices back in because they came
preinstalled in my computer. What a relief, I thought I had "blew it big
time". Marsha

Hi,

.......What a relief, I thought I had "blew it big time". Marsha

If you don't have a backup plan, "blowing it big time" is inevitable.
