Hi gubs2692 :-)
You might also try the following and see if it helps:
Right click on the Desktop in any open area
Click on New
Select Shortcut at the top
When the Wizard opens click the Browse button
Click My Computer
Double click on the drive where your OS is located
Double click on Program Files
Open Internet Explorer folder
Scroll down to the blue IE icon of explorer.exe
Highlight it and click the OK button
This will create a new shortcut for the IE
Then you can proceed to restore the original shortcut as others have
suggested
Or......just go to the Internet Explorer folder as described above, right
click on the EXPLORER.EXE and Copy and Paste to the Desktop. That should
create a new Icon as well.
If your Internet Explorer is not listed in the Start>Programs, try going to
the Internet Explorer folder and drag a copy the EXPLORER.EXE to your
User>Start menu folder. If asked to Copy Here, click Yes. That might get
it back on your Program list.
or....you can just ry the following:
Icon Restore - Free Utility

Hope this helps
