on a laptop trying to move a folder with hidden folders showing. finger
slipped off over a folder something like 33h450l44433n3n4b43b. i know its a
folder for system restore. i cant move it and when i check the properties of
it there are 0 MB of info. yet i have malwarebites, and the file assassin
tool shows the folders and if i click on a file it shows that it is taking up
space. i turned off system restore and changed the file name. it will let me
look in all the other files except the one i accidentally dragged and dropped
in there. i hope someone can figure this tricky one out. oh and i went in
during safe mode and still nothing.. im working with my girlfriends german
computer so i cant read what it says when i click on the folder. but it will
not let me in. i wonder if there is a program like file assasin that would
let me get to the files and move them. oh well.. let me know.

thanks
sean

What exactly is the error message you see? Please quote it verbatim, and
don't worry about the German wording - wir sprechen perfekt Deutsch!

My experience is that these type of folder are left-over from a
Windows Update.

Delete the folder if you can. XP will restore it on next bootup.
There's a free program called Unlocker that might help though if you are
dealing with malware or virus it's not going to
remove easily.

Re-enable System Restore and see if the file/folder's still present.
