My Windows XP was completely acting up in everyway, High CPU usage (like 100%
alot of the time) programs not responding, and system freezes. I ran many
virus and spyware/malware programs and nothing helped, so I wanted to
Reinstall windows I had a legit copy of Windows XP Home Edition w/sp2 but I
never had a disk when I someone gave me the computer so I used a random Dell
OS reinstall disk and tried to use it to just fix my version of windows and
it changed my version to sp1 and now I cant Register windows and I don't even
have the XP sticker on my computer so I don't know the REG KEY. I tried sys
restore but my dates don't go back that far...What can I do.

Buy a copy of XP. If you didn't get a Reg key label then you didn't get a
legit copy of Windows.

Go Army!
Here's a link to Belarc's Advisor. It's a "benchmark" program that will tell
you a lot of stuff about the hardware and software that is currently on your
system after this install (even the Windows Key#). Write the key down and try
the install again using that key#.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Go to the store and buy a copy of Windows XP (upgrade version).
