The index page does *not* come up. That's the problem. Your directory
listing comes up.

You are missing the default page, such as index.htm, index.html, etc.

Which one are you supposed to be using?

Contact your host to see what they require.

In FrontPage rename the file named frontpag.htm to index.htm and republish.

If you deleted the online index/default page, and still have your local copy just re-publish. If you don't just create a new index page...because you don't have index page is why you can browse the entire online directory...put something up even if it's just a temp one.

1) File > Open Web > open the web concerned.
2) File > Publish Web
3) Sign on with user details when prompted
4) Choose the index.htm page on your computer, right click, select "publish
selected file(s)"
5) Upload will occur
6) view the page in your browser.

Or make a new index.htm page and follow the above proceddure to publish it.

Do you have a backup/local copy you can restore it from?

This procedure may be slightly different for Frontpage 97; above instructions are
for Frontpage 2002.
