Accessing XP Pro following restart of computer

I requestsed assistance last night but have not heard
from anyone. When I restarted my computer and it asks
for name and password....my name is there but when I try
to type in the password it is like there is no connection
with the keyboard. Have tried two keyboards and neither
will work. The keyboards do work in dos. Any help will
be greatfully appreciated.
