Where did you find that out ???
All versions of Windows can see XP Pro shared folders via the computer
name. XP Home vs. XP Pro is not causing the problem.

There's no need to replace XP Home with XP Pro. Doing that won't help
if there's a configuration problem on the XP Pro computer that you're
unable to access.
When access via IP address works and access via computer name fails,
make sure that NetBIOS Over TCP/IP is enabled on all computers:
a. Open the Network Connections folder.
b. Right click the local area network connection.
c. Click Properties.
d. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
e. Click Properties.
f. Click Advanced.
g. Click WINS.
h. Click the Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP button.
The problem could also be caused by the way that the shares are
configured. This article should help:
