I just got a PC with two hard drives with RAID mirroring. While the boot
messages and Settings/Syetem/Hardware indicate RAID mirroring, I can't seem
to access the mirrored drive so I can't feel confident that it's working.

What can I do to insure it is?
If/When one of them fails, how will I know about it?
and what interaction will be required on my part?

IDE or SCSI Raid?
Raid Controller Manufacturer?
Failure notification will vary based upon these 2 questions.

You say you can't access the mirrored drive. Have you formatted it
yet?
