When I am working in Word or PowerPoint I am finding that there is hang time
before I can access a folder to save a file to. This is what I do and where
the problem lies: I go to “File” then to “Open”. When the Open screen comes
up the dropdown list is set to “My Documents”. When I click on the dropdown
arrow, there is a significant lag time before I get to see my folder tree.
Eventually I am able to see the folder tree but this is a new problem and
it’s a pain. Any help would be appreciated. I already tried reinstalling
Office 2003 with no luck. I am using Microsoft Office 2003 & Windows XP
Professional .

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop or in the
Windows Start menu, left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and
disconnect any mapped drives that are not currently available.
