I am on a uni halls network, but instead of a straight connection
through to my computer i have a router and then to my computers...

.... therefore sharing and accessing files can only done through the
files on the computers connected to the router.

How can I set it up so i can access the shared folders round my hall,
and share my folders on the halls network

Are you on a domain or workgroup ?

Erm i donknow. Workgroup i suppose?? If i was connected straight to
the halls network, and goto network places and then to workgroup then
it shows all the computers on the network
