Accessing a device on Parallel Port - example

I am estimating amount of work for LPT communication (EPP or ECP) with a
device . The estimation also involes developement of the device. I cannot
find any DDK examples on-line. I think that LPT communication should be
simpler than PCI but do not see any success stories.

Actually, PCI would probably be easier since there has been a ton of stuff
written about it. Estimated time for Communication systems can rapidly
degrade into long bouts of getting protocols correct.
