I have restored my Windows XP Mediacenter Edition operating system and after
restoring the OS Windows XP has created a new User account and I am not able
to access my data which is under my old User account.

I can see the folder , But when I try to open it it says "Access Denied".

Itried creating a new User Account with same name as previous but its not
allowing me to create the account and it says User Account with that name
already exits.

I really appriciate if some one can help me to retrive the data

You need to take ownership of the data.
