Before I purchase Front Page for our community Web Site, I need to know if
Front Page has the ability to keep the Website or portions of the Website
locked and only allow access to the residents of all or certain pages.

FP doesn't "lock" pages. It's done via permissions/password permissions via
the remote server, regardless of what software you use to create a web page.
And, the method depends on the server o/s.

Thank you. Register.Com is the host server for my site. However, at the
present time, I do not have Front Page but am using their product Easy
Wizard. Are you saying that I can get permissions/password permissions via
Register.Com?

you _may_ be able to set folder permissions with register.com's control
panel but they're not a host that many people (other than recent domain
registrants) use.

If you wouldn't mind giving a little more information about what you're
trying to do:
how big of a site, how many users, will there be different users/ passwords
for each member, will there be just one un/pw to access a folder full of
pages or will each un/pw have specific permissions to see certain documents,
etc.

If you make web sites for other people, you should check out ContentSeed:

Well you better hope Register.com can provide what you need because last time I
looked they charge a ridiculously large fee to let you transfer your site to
another hoster :=(
