Any ideas what could solve this...
I'm trying to access a web server on a private business to upload a web
site - so far unsuccesfully, either using an ftp program or using
FrontPage - both find the site ok, log in ok, but when it comes to
accessing the folder/web server to display the files already present,
then initiate any uploads etc - it does not get in to display the
files on remote server.
I'v unticked the "passive" access - thnking that might be the err, but
no difference... never struck this problem when accessing a "normal"
hosting site.
?!?!?!??

You may want to check and see if the account you were given has more than
login permissions. It could be that the account doesn't even have
permissions to do a read on the directory involved. A lot of small companies
and private business lock down access in a shotgun method without paying as
much attention to things as they should. They provide an account that has
login access to the server, but don't realise that only a select few of
those accounts have access to read/write to the FTP site.

Hope this helps,

I've heard a lot of people doing this 'Uploading files via front page'

I was wandering how is this done?

Is there a specific version needed?

Any tips on how I can upload via Front page will appreciated.
