Hi, I have a email server that can use AD as it's user
database and for authentication. I have will have a large
multi domain environment upto 2000 school's each will
have there own domain under a root domain at a central
site. I would to be able to be able to have the email
server to use the root domain AD to authenticate / quiry
username and password through LDAP for all the sub-
domains, This is the main use for the root domain.

Can this be done as the DC in the root domain will be a
GC. Any advice or pointers??

TIA

The remote Domain Controller will still need to authenticate the user.
Even though yours will be the root & GC. The GC only contains a
subset of user information and will not directly authenticate a user
from a remote domain.
