I know there is a way to access Terminal server by typing
in a web address in Internet explorer but I am having
difficulty finding out how to do that. Is there a white
paper somewhere on how to set this up.

Thanks,
Darren

From the TS FAQ at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...nters/terminal
/terminal_faq.asp

Q. How do I use the Remote Desktop Web Connection?

A. First you must install Remote Desktop Web Connection. The
Installing Remote Desktop Web Connection in Windows XP (Q284931)
step-by-step article shows you how.

You use the Remote Desktop Web Connection the same way you use the
standard Remote Desktop Connection application. You enter in the
blank field the name of the remote computer you want to connect to
and then press the connect button.

To get to the page through Internet Explorer just enter
http://yourwebserver/tsweb/ in the address field, where
"yourwebserver" is the name of the computer on which you installed
the Remote Desktop Connection.

Hello Vera,

This describes the Client side. What do I need on a Win2000 Terminal Server
to make this work? Must I have a Webserver, does this work on a TS opened to
the internet with an IP? I suppose that this is no standard feature of
Win2k-Server.

Best regards

arno

The download site for the Remote Desktop Web Connection 5.2.3790 at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...lyID=e2ff8fb5-

answers some of your questions:
You must be using Internet Information Services (IIS) to host a Web
site to use this feature.

Yes, this should work in your setup, but be sure to *not* use port 80
(for security reasons).

Windows 2000 Technologies : Terminal Services at

p

contains links to the information you are looking for.
