Folks,

I am trying to backup my Outlook.pst file by either d&d into another folder
on a second disk, or, even explicitly saying copy and then pasting into where
I want.

It immediately complains with:

Cannot copy outlook: The process cannot access the file because another
process has locked a portion of the file.

I exited Outlooked, same results.
I rebooted the computer, same results!!!

Checked the properties of the file and there was no indication that it was
locked.

Any advise?

Well ... as it turned out I was also synchronizing my handheld for Outlook
messages and it was the ActiveSynch that was the culprit.
I killed it, and it now all copies well.

Cheers,
