I burnt out my desktop computor which was runing xp home. I saved the harddrive as this is still good. I have got the hard drive in a caddy and can read it through my laptop, but i can not access any of my documents/pic, as they was in an password protected profile. I had other profiles on the hard drive and i can get into them as they was not password protected. How can iget in to the password protected information, when i click my documents i get the 'access denied' message.

What program did you use to password protect your inaccessible profile ?

Welcome to the forums

You probably need to "take ownership" of the old files - are you also access the old hard drive on an XP PC? If so, this should do the trick : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421
