a little advise please..
have 2 hard drives and after a lot of problems i decided
to put xp on the small drive.....
now my computer reconises the second drive but access is
denied to it...
may i put this a long winded as disabled and this may
assist you in fixing
1) in boot it shows the drive in question...

2) in device manager it shows and states working perfecly.
3)in disk management it only shows the small drive .c and
no other .
4)if i boot from cd and press install it shows the other
drive .but access is denied..
5)in the bios it shows the large drive 80gb and it has
been set to auto and it is shown as slave...
6) norton systemworks if i do disk check it says cannot
read drive 2 and run setup to fix.( unfortunatley ) it
keeps stating access denied and not allowin me to
highlight the large drive....
7)i have within device manager used the update driver to
see if this helps but it states using the latest driver.
8)..as the large drive has not been assiged a drive
letter as access denied ....
9)...i have xp fat32 on c...as the large drive had xp on
it before and had a serious prob and wished to format and
reinstall xp(ntfs) 80gb it did the format and after it
completed the cd would not load so i did a restart and
when given the choice this is when the access to the
drive was denied...i am sorry if longwinded butrying to
give a more detail on error yours in
antisipation ...David

Access is denied because of NTFS Security. See this article on how to
fix that:
