you don't need the old version of outlook, you need the old message store.
If it was a pst, you can open it using file, open, but if it was an *.ost
file, you need to use the profile and acct that created it.
If you used an ost and still have it, you can convert it to a pst using
http://www.slipstick.com/files/ost2pst.exe.
