When I click on Access a msgbox drops down "preparing to load ....Wait
while windows is configurating Office Pro 2003 .. Gathering info.. " Bean
counter runs, then Nothing.
I have run "Repair (x3), uninstalled/re installed Office (x3), all to no
avail.

Any ideas please ??

Oddly enough have you tried rebooting your system?
