How to Access my home (desktop) p.c. from my Laptop

I have had my home tower pc (Vista Home Premium) for a long time and have
lots of e-mail folders on it (Windows Mail).

I have just purchased a new laptop that also has Vista Home Premium and
Windows Mail on it. The laptop is "connected" to the tower with a wireless
router, and I am able to access the tower to open all kinds of files and
folders.

Is there a way, however, for me to use my laptop to gain access to the
tower's e-mail folders? (I know about leaving messages on server, and
deleting in x days).

Help would be appreciated.

Although you can access the raw .eml files, it is not a very good experience.
For one thing, the file names have cryptic hexadecimal names.
You can access the .eml files here:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders.

Thanks for your inputs, Gary. I went to the directory that you mentioned and
then tried to "share" the relevant folders, but I got a message back that it
couldn't "share" the folders (despite my having earmarked "everyone", etc.,
as "co-owners".

I don't know if there is a way of accessing the actual repository of the
folders/files from a remote laptop....

If you have any add'l suggestions, please let me know.

Thnx

Peter

You can't share those files over a network. Windows Mail requires
its files to reside on a local hard drive.

In order to have multiple computers share the same mail folders,
you would need an IMAP account instead of a POP account.
You can get a free IMAP account from Gmail.
