Recently, when I try to go into tools/internet options it
will not give me access. An error message comes up saying:

"this operation has been cancelled due to restictions in
effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administator"

I recently upgraded to the latest Trend Micro anti virus
software. Not sure if this is related.

Thanks for any help

When I go to 'Tools' 'Internet Options' I get the following error:
This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator.

If you have SpyBot S & D installed, go to SpyBot - Search and Destroy
Immunize, and UNcheck the "Lock IE Control Panel..." box.

If you have troubles with your browser not having all the controls in the
expected
places download and run this .reg file.

Close IE.
Open Regedit.
Find the value NoBrowserOptions and remove every instance of it.

You might try this from Mike Burgess first if you use SpyBot:
'Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
If so, you can unlock by unchecking the option to "Protect IE Control
Panel".
