Hi
we are migrating our NT 4 domain (NTdomain) to Windows 2003 based AD domain (W2K3.com). We have used ADMT tool to migrate the users and groups. Two way trust has been established between the domain. Recently we have migrated the File Server to the w2k3.com domain. The OS is windows 2000 and it was a plain member server.
After joining the File server to the new domain, we have verified the permissions of common shared folders. All the File permissions NTDOMAIN\groupA has been changed to W2K3\GroupA automatically. Similary all the file permissions NTDOMAIN\UserA has been changed to W2K3\UserA. The client migration is scheduled for next month. Now the issue is, the userA logged in to NTdomain is not able to access the File Server which is in W2K3 domain. The test client machine is running Windows 2000 Professional edition. If I login to the W2K3 domain then we are able to access the File server share.
Can somebody through some light on this issue? Since the total number of users affected are high, we have rejoined the fileserver back to the old NTDOMAIN. Await your advise
Thanks
SBS
