Hi, Steve.

Yes. There is a function in the Access 97 Help examples that you can use to
create and populate a table listing many of the error codes and error
messages -- but not what causes each error. In case you don't have Access
97, it may be difficult to find the topic in later versions. Please see the
tip, "How to create a listing of the Access and Jet errors" on the following
Web page for the VBA code needed:

Often what has caused the error is obvious, but sometimes it isn't so
obvious. That's when it just takes experience to know what caused the error.
You have to either run into the error yourself and solve it -- or ask
somebody else who has solved it. Fortunately, it's easy to find plenty of
experienced people answering questions in the newsgroups whenever we run into
a problem in an area of Access that we aren't familiar with.
