I genrally check the encryption for the outlook pst file. Recently my OS got
corrupted and I had to re-install the OS and tke office. Now I am not able to
access the pst files. It says access denied, you dont have enough
permissions. The pst is also not marked Read-Only. I have some important
mails in the pst which needs to be accessed. please do help.

The first thing is to remove the read-only attribute; everything may
work after this. If not, please post back.

How are you trying to open the PST file?

@Pat: Read Only is not checked.

@Ornald: I have tried opening the pst directly from the Windows Explorer as
well as from the Data File management in outlook.

Have you used a simple File > Open?
