Hey i'm new here, and i'm trying to fix this computer for my boss, for a couple of bucks. Its a Dell Inspiron 8100 with a P3 running XP-SP3. I'm trying to install this netgear WN511T Rangemax Next Wireless Notebook Adapter, and I can't use the CD because his drive doesn't work, another thing i'm working on. So I downloaded the newest driver and installed it using the USB port, but when it gets to the end it looks like its finished but it says "An error occurred during the installation of the device Access is denied."

Now i searched the log files and found the error report.

I'm no expert but does your boss have administrator rights for his machine.

yeah i've gone through all of the administrator steps, as far as i know. I set the entire registry to give permission to the Admin user name, which is the name I created. I also made sure to set the user type to administrator when i created it. I'm not sure if I have done it correctly though, but if you or anybody else has any methods for doing that, maybe I haven't heard of those, I would greatly appreciate the help
