This problem is driving me nuts! I have read several posts relating to HP
printers
and I have already concluded it is not the problem.

I entered msconfig to check startup settings, made no change, hit ok, then I
get
"An access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service"
I didn't change a service, nothing in eventlog??

Any help super appreciated.

Since you did not intend to change anything anyway and nothing has actually
been changed, this is not in itself a major problem.
However it may indicate that MSConfig is not working properly.

Actually anytime Msconfig gets opened w/o useing the "cancel" button
to close the utility, youre setting policy as its written in the
utility.Also,while
Msconfig seems like the way to edit services, actually services.msc is the
preferred method.

No harm, just a bug. The changes are being made.
