Hi,

Here are my steps: Start, Run, msconfig, service tab, hide all microsoft
services, disable all, then apply. At this point I get an error that says:
an access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. I
am the Administator so that isn't the problem.

It has been a long while since I have used this command. Last time I used
it, it worked fine. Many updates, and other software have be installed and
uninstalled, so I have no idea when this situation first happened nor do I
know what thing may have caused it.

Any help would be apprciated.

Thanks
Kevin,

I've seen previously that it's safer to change process in Management Services
where they can be disabled, rather than from Msconfig. A possible reason you
can not do it via msconfig is that service can't be deselected if active. Try
disable from MC even if Stop doesn't work there. Re-boot should see it gone.

To see if it's one particular service, disable half at a time to narrow it
down. You may have to manually stop, then disable that service from Start |
Run | services.msc | Ok.

Will,

Please explain "disable from MC." I not sure what you mean by this?

Kevin,
