We added a new printer (HP 3550) to our Windows 2000 print server. A Windows
2000 user is able to add this printer but the Status displays as "Access
Denied -- Unable to Connect." She is also able to print to the printer from
most applications, but she cannot see jobs in the queue. She is able to
connect to other printers on the same print server without an issues. Any
ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Kim

this is a server side issue when the print server is denied access to the
client machine (thus Access Denied) and unable to update the queue view.
There are several client settings that can cause this.

Access denied from server

In this case, the client machine is only denied access to one printer on the
print server. They are able to access all other printers.

I was able to resolve the problem by adding the user into the Power Users
group on the print server.
