My son has Vista installed, I (the main computer that the printer is
connected to) have XP Home spII, all network connections work fine except
when he tries to print over the network, he get a "Access Denied permissins"
pop-up error. Is this a conflict with Vista/XP or what?

So, what else is new :/ I find it easy to understand the irritability of
someone who puts a lot of time and money into something, and runs into this
kind of error. Printers are their own little world, kind of like the
audiophile, or the picture people. Not technical, but love their specialty,
and what it to work (damn it )
Sharing is in the settings, they can just be a bit elusive.

Hi
Check both XP and Vista Firewalls to make sure that the Printing is in the
traffic/application exceptions.

How do I do that? I have McAfee Security Center, it accepts either
applications or IP's I have it set to "accept all IP's (on network)" how do
I find the IP for my printer? Does it even have an IP? Nor is it an
Application.

I'm not rude, I simply was answering the question, "Was This Helpful", no it
wasn't and I was hoping to get more answers. Thanks all

I wasn't trying to be rude :-) just answering the question, ..."Was this
helpful? Then click the "Yes"... sorry

I read somewhere that because (I have XP) and my son has Vista (NT based)
that unless both machines are "Logged On" with the same user and password,
the NT security won't allow the Vista to print over the network...
