Access denied to shared res.on W9x

Hi everybody.
I've searched on the whole KB and newsgroups but never
found a solution to this problem that, as I can see, is
rather common.

Situation: Win NT 4.0 sp6a domain and W95-98 clients with
share level access control (every shared folder has user
specific permission). Everything worked fine until I
added some new XP Pro workstations.

The W9x's can access shared folders on the XP's but there
is no way the XP's can access the W9x's user specific
shared folders (note that the resources shared with
the 'everybody' account are perfectly accessed), even if:
the workgroup name is the same as the domain name,
NetBIOS on TCP/IP is enabled, Computer Browser Service is
active only on the NT server, firewall off, local
policies/domain member: seal channel...(always) disabled.

Nothing works. I don't want to modify my access control
policy to password or everybody account.

I'm stuck on this issue, so any suggestion would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks

Alex.h
