Access denied to mapped network share

Client: Laptop running winXPpro, Server: winnt4.0 with
static ip addressing. The network has about 24 nodes
running various os's from win98 to winXPpro. We have
other laptops running the same os that have access to the
same network share. It will let me map the drive but then
it won't let me have access to it. It's probable a simple
permissions issue. Anybody have some suggestions as to
why i can't access the share? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.
