Yesterday, I posted a note explaining I could not install
the service pac 1 updates and received an error
message, "Access Denied". I recieved a reply and was
very thankful but I still cannot install the update. I
downloaded "xp_winupd_netpolicy.vbs" file, saved it to my
hard drive, located it in explorer, double-clicked it &
received a dialog box message< "finished". When I
attempted downloading and installing service pac 1, I
still get the error message, "Access Denied". I tried
the express method 4 times and attempted the custom,
once, which would not let me proceed. I did notice an
indication of the file size being 0 KB and 0 mins prior
to clicking on install although it went through the
process of installing anyway.
Automatic updates is, "enabled".
The windows version from "About Windows" is:
Version 5.1 (build2600.xplnt_gfe.xxxxxxxxxx No mention of
service pac 1.
Additional assistance would be greatly appreciated.
