Hi all,

Does anyone know a way to access a folder that had been marked PRIVATE
in Win2K Pro and now trying to access it in XP, as the PC was upgraded?
The user is getting ACCESS DENIED message, even though logged in as
ADMIN under XP.

Thanks,

HD

"folder that had been marked PRIVATE"

There's no such thing really.

As long as encryption isn't involved you can take ownership.
Explorer|"folder"|File|Properties|Security|Advanced|Owner and take
ownership, check the box for 'Replace owner on subcontainers and objects'
