I have tried to do the following to try and get ownership of the files, but I
don't have "use simple file sharing" as a option and I can't take ownership
in My coputer tools either can you Help please???

You need to disable Simple File Sharing and take ownership of the files.
Take a
look at these articles for more info:

If you have XP Home, you can't disable Simple File Sharing and you need to
go into Safe Mode to see the Security tab which will allow you to take
ownership.

I have tried to restart in safe mode, but when I push the F8 button it
doesn't start in safe mode it just goes to the windows start-up

You can set up a safe boot from the desktop. Open a Run box and type
"msconfig" and hit Enter. On the Boot Tab select the Safe Boot radio
button, OK out of msconfig and restart. Reverse the process when in Safe
Mode to return to standard Windows.

Either peck on F5 during Startup, or select the hard drive from the
Start-Up menu, then start pecking on F8 again.
