not sure where to post this.

Have a 2 server AD domain. One runs SQL (MSDE2000) and the
other doesn't - don't even know if it is involved.

Regardless of hours of looking at articles I cannot figure
why whenever I try to use the Computer Management MMC on
one server to look at the others storage devices I get
an "access denied: you don't have permission to use the
service." If I try to look at some items such as evert
viewer - that is fine, other items say that a connection
to the Internet Services Manager failed. The client trying
to connect gets a DCOM error that says the server denied
access.

I've gone through and compared registy, IIS, file and
folder permissions, the list is endless. The setup works
fine on a lab system at home set up the same general way.
I've even used DCPROMO to remove the server from the AD
and then used DCPROMO to bring it back in. Everything
else works fine although the unit in question occasionally
gets an RPC performance counter timeout error when booting
up. RPC has started. Any ideas?
