Access crashes on load

Whenever I try to open a database I've been working in, it prompts me to save
a backup somewhere. If I do, it crashes with the error "Microsoft Office
Access has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working
correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available."

If I cancel saving the backup and try to open the database I get the same
error, though I can open other existing databases or create blanks ones with
no problems.

I installed all Vista updates for my computer, but that did not help at all.
How can I fix this problem with my database?

Create a new db and use the Import feature to copy the objects from
your misbehaving app into it. 80% chance this will fix the problem.

Does it have VBA code? If so, this usually works for me: Open the database
while holding down the Shift key. If this prevents it from crashing,
recompile the code and also run a database repair on it.
