I have an old access 97 application that I am currently running on XP.

I am planning to upgrade my entire system - new motherboard, windows 7
and the latest office. Will I be able to open or convert my access 97
application and then save it as an office 2010 application?

Yes.

There are some big differences - the Ribbon and the way database objects are
presented; and you'll have to put the database in a Trusted Location for VBA
code to run, but it's backward compatible.
