Many thanks

the process is the exactly the same for all versions of office, you just
choose custom install, and you are given options to choose what applications
you want to install. You are at that point usually given options to NOT
remove previous versions of office. (be careful here, as you might result in
removing existing versions of office..and you might not want to do this).

The above not changed for many many years, and you can install just one
application out of the office suite.

I think the ONLY restriction is that you can't have multiple versions of
outlook installed. However, I had 3 versions of ms-access installed on some
machines for years..and I know of people who have 4 or even more different
versions installed.

So, I think he missing piece of the puzzle here is that you not choosing
"custom" install, and thus all of the default office applications install,
and worse they will remove previous versions..so, use some caution, and read
the menus you clicking away on with your mouse.

Since it is beta, I would use a test machine if you not comfortable
installing software on your everyday work machine.

To be honest, for the initial beta for office, I only used test machines
(virtual pc). However, the last beta is in such good shape, I now running
office 2003, and office 2010 on the same machine..that Means I dumped office
2007 in favor of 2010...

Also, there is NOT a separate download for ms-access, and perhaps that is
your question. Right now, you have to download the whole office suite
beta...
