I have Office 2007 for Home and Student. I now realize that I need Access
2007. If I purchase the upgrade will that work or do I have to purchase the
full version?

You would either need to purchase the FULL version of Access or contact
Microsoft to see if you can upgrade your Office Suite to Professional.

Unfortunately, Office for Home and Student doesn't qualify for any upgrades.
That's one of the reasons it's so cheap. You'll have to purchase the full
version.
