If my access accDB file is split into FE and BE, the back end being on a
server which is running MS Small buisness server 2003, and I only use the
inherent windows security and the password feature in Access 2007, how
vulnerable would the database be to hackers from the internet?

What I am trying to get at is we are very small (4 people) at a non profit
org. which as important info to keep secure....we are not worried about the 4
of us. (JUST PRETEND we are really honest wonderful human beings who have no
desire to peek!!!!)

I am considering using an older server as the BE and two older (WIN XP)
computers as the FE with no Internet connectivity...is this necessary, or is
our new server as safe even though it is on a network with internet access?

Is the server even connected to the internet? Hackers from the internet
come in via ports exposed to the internet. If you have none then there is
no risk.

Thanks for your help, Rick! We are going to have a stand alone network which
has no internet connectivity. Unfortunately, I just do not know enough yet
about networks and network security to be able to KNOW our data is safe.
Thanks again for helping us out!!!
