I have an Access 2000 database and a copy converted to Access 2003. I
upgraded to Office 2003 Pro (and have all the patches). When I attempt to
refresh pivot tables in either the 2000 or 2003 database (with the pivot
tables created in Access 2000), I get the very informative Microsoft Excel
error, "Problems obtaining data."

If I move either database to another computer running Access/Excel 2003, the
pivot tables refresh fine. I can create a new pivot table in the 2000 or 2003
database and it works fine, although I hate the new format (different topic
and sore subject). I have deinstalled and reinstalled Office 2003 Pro five
times and the problem remains.

Why can't the machine update a pivot table created in Access 2000? It is an
OLE issue where a registry setting may not be set correctly?

Unfortunately not. I'm hoping a kind Microsoft employee wanders in here and
gives us the answer. This misbehavior of Office 2003 Pro and Windows XP Pro
is unacceptable.

I don't know if that say you something but after i have reinstalled
windows xp pro and installed only Office 2003 Pro i tryed to run my
application and i don' t have the problem. Then I installed other
programs(Corel Draw 12, RelayFax, Quicktime and others) and then I
re-run my application and I have again the problem. I think there are
some conflicts between the applications i have installed and Office but
I cannot find them.
