Are databases written in access 2000 convertable to 2003? if so will it
require additional programming? and how do I convert it? Thanks if anyone can
help.

By default, Acess2003 uses Acces2000 file format. So, when you use
Access2003 to open a access made with Access2000, there is nothing you need
do to, Access2003 simply opens it.

You only need to convert it to Acces2003 format, if you want to make the
database into a *.mde file.

Thanks for answering my question.
My other question is will the databases in access have to be re-written when
it's converted. We have alots of databases in our current Access database and
need to know whether more work will be needed when we migrate to 2003. Our
database is a multi-user database and not everyone is migrating at the same
time. Just want to know what the ramifications of the upgrade be for the
databases.

As for Access database itself (FE and BE) most likely, nothing need to do
other than install Access2003. If you do use *.mde/*.ade format as FE,
though, you have to change the file format to Access2003 format before you
can make *.mde/*.ade file, and the *.mde/*.ade file will not be opened by
Access2000. So, if you have mixed Access2000 and Access2003 users, you will
want to stay with Access2000 format, and if you want to use *.mde/*.ade, you
create them with Access2000, not Access2003.
