I'm encountering some serious problems trying to set Access 2000 querys

(parameters and views) as data sources for my mail merge documents
(Word 2003). After spending hours scouring the web for some existing
help and coming up with nothing, its time to admit defeat and ask here
!

Trying to set the data source to a preexisting parameter query via DDE
results in
an 'Unable to establish DDE connection' - similar to the error
described at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813989/


Trying to set the data source to a preexisting query via ODBC results
in a 'Word was unable to open the data source' - similar to the error
described at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=888697


Despite the solutions proposed in both knowledge base arguments, I have

no luck solving these problems. The ODBC method seems to work fine with

Tables - however, not with Queries.


These mail merge documents worked fine in previous versions of word.

I have a solution that works with word 97 to word 2003. You can mix and
match every version of word, and every version of ms-access, and the code
will still work.
